Stories and Treats at Annual Trunk and Read Event
Stories and Treats at Annual Trunk and Read Event

Joy James Academy of Leadership has done it AGAIN—even with the rain! The 5th Annual Truck and Read event was a huge success.

JJA parent volunteers, CISD Administrators and numerous community leaders and organizations all took time out of their schedule to read with our students. There is always time to read a good story! Each volunteer decorated their area to match a festive Fall or Halloween children’s book, read their stories and passed out special treats donated by our fabulous parents.

Thank you to the following volunteers for making this event such a success: 13 Joy James Academy Families, CISD TLI Departments, CISD Admin, Sansom Park Police, Sansom Park Fire, and Sansom Park City Hall.

This event combined fun, academics, community involvement, and the love of reading all together in one “SPOOKTACULAR” event! Proof that we are BETTER TOGETHER!

Welcome Back
Welcome Back from Principal Turner
On behalf of our staff, I am happy welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! We emerge this year as a Leadership Academy…that title sounds good doesn’t it? Our student leaders have worked hard to earn the privilege of carrying this title. This will be our fourth year as a Stephen Covey “Leader In Me” school. We are all leaders and can’t wait to see what develops in your child’s life this year. The foundations we build now will last a lifetime!

ASDY Support Program Begins
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our lives in ways we could not have imagined. The way we educate children has had to shift rapidly in order to ensure that every child has the same opportunity to learn and doesn’t fall behind or miss opportunities to excel. Despite heroic efforts from both parents and educators, some children are still struggling to succeed in the tumultuous and stressful times we are living in. In an effort to lend a helping hand and combat learning loss, Castleberry ISD is proud to announce the Additional Days School Year support program. As part of the Additional Days School Year support program, or ADSY, our dedicated team of educators and administrators at each campus are stepping up and opening schools for in-person instruction from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Saturdays
