Welcome Back
Welcome Back from Principal Turner

Dear Joy James Academy of Leadership Families,

On behalf of our staff, I am happy welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! We emerge this year as a Leadership Academy…that title sounds good doesn’t it? Our student leaders have worked hard to earn the privilege of carrying this title. This will be our fourth year as a Stephen Covey “Leader In Me” school. We are all leaders and can’t wait to see what develops in your child’s life this year.  The foundations we build now will last a lifetime!

I am continuously amazed at the dedication of CISD and the Joy James staff to providing our children with the highest of standards in learning. This includes safety and security on all levels.  It is great to be part of a community where students, teachers and parents care for each other and strive to build meaningful relationships that support academic and social emotional growth.

To stay in tune with all the great things planned for this year, get connected with our Joy James Website, Facebook page and other social media platforms. We also have Campus Administrators and an Office Team that are eager to help answer your questions.

Here are some things we need your help with:

  • Complete your online registration as soon as possible…update all phone numbers and familiarize yourself with Skyward Family Access.

  •  Order uniforms so your child is prepared on day 1 to be in compliance with our dress code.

  • Attend CISD’s Back2School Bash on Friday, August 5th and Meet the Teacher at Joy James Saturday, August 6th at 10:00 am.

  •  Expect your child to succeed! Actively help them meet the academic and social goals they set this year.

Thank you for choosing us to guide your child’s academic journey! We are grateful for your constant support and positivity…we could not do it without the strong partnership we have developed!

We are #BetterTogether!

Sincerely,

Leigh Ann Turner

Principal--Joy James Academy of Leadership

Somos #¡MejorJuntos!

Sinceramente,

Leigh Ann Turner

ASDY Support Program Begins
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our lives in ways we could not have imagined. The way we educate children has had to shift rapidly in order to ensure that every child has the same opportunity to learn and doesn’t fall behind or miss opportunities to excel. Despite heroic efforts from both parents and educators, some children are still struggling to succeed in the tumultuous and stressful times we are living in. In an effort to lend a helping hand and combat learning loss, Castleberry ISD is proud to announce the Additional Days School Year support program. As part of the Additional Days School Year support program, or ADSY, our dedicated team of educators and administrators at each campus are stepping up and opening schools for in-person instruction from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Saturdays
