Mrs. Belmonte meeting with parents and studnets at our Back to School BashOn August 28th, the faculty and staff of Joy James Elementary welcomed students and their families with a “Back to School Bash”. The school theme “Level Up” was introduced as over 550 excited visitors entered the building to learn more about this year’s learning expectations. The evening started with a hot dog dinner which gave our parents and staff an opportunity to mingle. JJE also showcased various extra-curricular clubs and programs, offering information on how to be involved. The clubs and programs that were highlighted include Running Club, Honors Choir Club, Student Council, UIL, Gardening Club, Dominos Club, Library programs and Volunteer program. All programs foster leadership qualities in our students and encourage our families to be involved in the school community.

Parents and students also visited classrooms where teachers reviewed academic and social expectations for their child throughout the school year. Teachers also discussed helpful resources that parents could use at home to enhance student learning. It was great to see so many supportive families join the fun! Together the Joy James staff, students, and parents are ready to “Level Up” for this school year.
