Grandparents are special! Joy James elementary students showed this by celebrating Grandparents Day on Friday, September 14th. Over 100 grandparents were welcomed by students and teachers. Events began in the classroom with a history trivia on Grandparents Day. From there, our students showed their guests what learning in the 21st century means. Grandparents experienced virtual reality goggles, ozobots and many other makerspace activities. Lots of priceless selfies were made in the photo booth! Grandparents also accompanied their grandchildren to the courtyard for a reception with pastries and sweet bread. JJE students and teachers were thrilled to have these special guests help us create memories for the scrapbooks, or these days, to share on facebook and twitter! We look forward to their next visit!
