Firefighters speaking to students on Career DayOur Joy James students learned about unique jobs and professions.  They also learned the importance of college on Career Day which was held January 25th.  Dr. Matt Joiner from Region 11 ESC was our keynote speaker and shared with our kids how having a college education is a key to success in the world of work.  Our third, fourth and fifth graders rotated through presentations ranging from restaurant management to pyrotechnics.  They learned about the different careers in a zoo, what a chiropractor does to make people feel better, and how an engineer designs big rig trucks.  Fourth and fifth graders rotated through Tarrant Community College's Mobile Go Unit.  They learned about what kind of job opportunities they need to support the lifestyle they want to live as adults.  The road to college and career starts in elementary school where our kids start their "unstoppable" journey, and the possibilities are endless!
